Do You Have A Chameleon Or A Lion Spirit?

Every once in a while I will watch the animal channel because it's interesting. The animals move around in their habitats for survival in different ways. The chameleons change with their environment to blend in. The lions don't change but are the same wherever they go.

There are some of us who change with the environment. When every thing is going good we trust God and we are just floating along on the cloud. When heart break happens and you fall off the cloud, we question God. When things get tough at work or a loved one passes away, life sucks and we begin to question God or complain with a 'why me' attitude.

Or when things are going good, we have a tendency to live as though we don't need God. The praying and studying the Bible stops, we welcome in a little sin as well as church attendance slacks. This is the chameleon spirit. But when we something bad happens we run to the altar but just as soon as everything is okay we slack off in our faith.

Sadness, mourning, trial and tribulations are going to come but shouldn't change is our reaction. God put emotions in us for a reason and that is to use them for His glory. Jesus demonstrates these emotions, He cried, He was angry, He was sad but He never allowed these emotions to waiver His faith. The emotions fueled Him to teach people a lesson. He was angry at the behavior of the people in the temple so He corrected them by overturning the tables and showing them this isn't right. He cried at the lack of faith the people had when Lazarus died. So He showed them He is able. Use your emotions for good, not to waiver in faith and cause you to sin. An example, is being heart broken by a break or divorce, don't run out and start sleeping around to numb your pain. Use your pain to better yourself and prepare for the person who is going to stay with you.

Even until death His faith never wavered because He told God, "Nevertheless, not my will but your will be done." Luke 22:42. Jesus didn't say God I don't trust you an I can't do this. These people suck. No, He said the opposite, He basically told God I trust your will for my life and no matter what, I'm going to follow.
Jesus is a lion spirit. He is bold. Bold doesn't always have to mean being loud but taking a stand and never wavering. The lions walk around like come at me because I'm fighting till the end. This is how our faith in God should be. We should fight the good fight of faith in God till the end. The Bible says in Proverbs 28:1 NIV "The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are as bold as a lion."

Are you going to have the chameleon spirit and flee your faith when things are good or bad? Or are you going to be as bold as a lion and stand firm in your faith no matter what?

I pray everyone who reads this will stand firm in their faith in God no matter what happens around them. God is faithful to us. "All things work together for good who love the Lord." Romans 8:28. When we stand on our faith in God, He always works everything out. Remember His goal for us is to have life and have it more abundantly. The enemy wants to destroy us.

I'm standing boldly with the one who wants me to have life more abundantly.

Be Thankful
