Purpose Is Chasing You

Have you ever had someone chase you down? Whether it's for fun or running for your life, being chased is not that fun. You're trying to breath and think at the same time. You have anxiety while trying trying to stay focused on getting away from the person chasing you. Now doing the chasing is, especially when you catch the person.

If someone chasing you isn't fun, what about when God chases you? Yes God chases us. I've heard many testimonies of people having encounters with God in their darkest moments. I, myself, am included in this testimony. I was on a floor, waiting to die, when God came and lifted me up. He chased me.

He doesn't just show up in our darkest moments, He also shows up on our journey. We think we have the perfect job but all of a sudden we get fired. We think we have the perfect house, but all of a sudden it gets burned down. When these things happen, we have to ask ourselves, did God really tell me to take that job? Did God really tell me to buy that house? Our first reaction shouldn't be to get mad at God but question if He is trying to keep us on the right path.
I know this is difficult to do, especially when it was something we really wanted  but if God wasn't the foundation of that thing, it may not have been from God. It may not be a part of the purpose He has for us. God gives us a choice to follow His will but even when we choose wrong He will guide us to keep us on the right track.

There's a story in the Bible with a man named Jonah in it. He didn't want to go to Nineveh to preach the Word. He went in another direction. However that direction did not workout for him because God had a purpose for him to go to Nineveh. There was a huge storm on the boat he was on that made the other men throw him off. They threw him into the sea just when a huge fish swallowed Jonah. Jonah prayed and God saved Him. Then God told Him again what his purpose was, this time Jonah was obedient.

The storm that Jonah went through, led him to get swallowed up and repent. Then led him to his purpose. There are so many lessons in the book of Jonah. Today I wanted you to see that if you're in the middle of a storm or feeling like you are being swallowed up with wrong choices, it's time to make it right because your purpose is chasing after you. Repent then obedient to the path God has for you. You will be glad you did.
